The standing wall calf stretch is one of the most commonly recommended exercises for heel pain, plantar fasciitis, and tight calves. Physical therapists prescribe it. Coaches teach it. Millions of people do it every day.

What Happens to Your Heel During a Wall Stretch
When you perform a standard wall stretch — hands on the wall, one foot stepped back, leaning forward — your heel rests on the floor. It feels stable. But it isn't locked.
